MOUD (Medication for Opioid Use Disorder) is considered the gold standard in treating opioid use disorder due to its demonstrated effectiveness and life-saving potential.
Our programs utilize FDA-approved medications like Methadone and Buprenorphine, combined with person-centered counseling, to provide comprehensive care.
- Methadone: Activates opioid receptors in the brain, blocking the effects of heroin and painkillers.
- Buprenorphine: Works similarly to methadone but only partially activates opioid receptors, often reducing drug use and protecting patients from overdose.
